Why I have become addicted to blogging...

Just days short of my one month blog anniversary and I want to share with you what I love so far about blogging and blogland.

Over the last few weeks I have become so energised and when something touches on me, I am very passionate.

The journey I have travelled already has been great. From being full of anxiety with my inner voice shouting at me about how uncreative and incapable I am, how everyone will ignore me or just want me to piss off out of their blogland. To the delight of that first comment on one of my post's, to that first link (and http://pradapixie.blogspot.com/ that was you on both counts) to now getting home from work and firing up my laptop to see if I have any new comments (inner voice - don't get greedy now!) To the delight of visiting my favourite fellow bloggers sites and reading new posts (see 'sites i like') which make me smile or appeal to the part of me that feels the same way. And hunting down more blogs that delight me.

So, that was the intro, now to the nitty gritty! Why I love blogging.

1. I started to blog for me. (I had been reading others blogs for months and finally had the belief to join in and have a go myself.)
2. I can develop my creative side (numbers are more my thing but I want words to be too.)
3. I am anonymous. No-one I know has my URL so no-one I know can judge me about what I choose to reveal and say about myself. If I fuck up, then I can vanish into the cyber ether and no-one would be none the wiser. This makes everything safe really.
4. I find myself giggling at my laptop as I read my fellow bloggers witty posts. (And I feel worthy to read as I am having a go myself.)
5. I find myself feeling privileged as I read my fellow bloggers sad or angry or heart-felt and honest posts. (And I feel worthy to read as I am having a go myself.)
6. I love being able to leave comments on other blogs, to give messages of support or playfully banter / tease.
7. I love being honest in a safe environment. Or as honest as I can knowingly be, as I do hide things from myself.
8. This is my testing ground to find my range. I can express myself differently in my cyber-life where I cannot in my 'other' life. And if things are OK and I am OK, maybe I'll change that which I want to change in my non-cyber life.
9. I love reading other's bloggers expression of how they feel and seeing it as OK and an example for me.
10. I don't feel quite so alone.
11. I love giving positive strokes.
12. I love receiving strokes.

But then, you know all of this anyway, cos your bloggers too!

Yep, blogging has become a way of life for me. I don't know what I did before it!

It may be anon now, but slowly RL creeps in, and it's a lot of fun getting to know your blog friends in RL as well.

Thanks for the link, will put you on my 'new to blogland roll'.

Lynn, yes indeed. I have had a real bad day yet I come online and as I read these comments a flicker of a genuine smile crosses my face.

Graffiti, It certainly is more than OK. Thank-you very much. Is it OK if I link to your site too?

Vi, yes, don't know what I was doing a month ago. Out with the TV, in with the blogo-sphere.

ok picked a card but it didn't seem to be the right one cause i ignored the first card so i pulled them both.
First card 10 of pentacles. It's the money tree card, so you are tending to your security and being well grounded.
2nd card Justice, which is about you needing to see someting being right in your world that maybe hasn't been ok.

That'll be a packet of maltesers in cost!!!

Hi P, Thanks.
You were dead right to go for the second card.

I have been really struggling with justice / injustice this week.

Thanks for pulling me a card.

Maltesers with ice-cream on their way....

Welcome dj. Thanks for your comments. The pic is of the peony in my garden which took 7 long years to flower (a post about it is in Mays archive.) Love your blog. I'll have more time to have a good read of it this weekend.
