I like creating things.
I've just been sitting in the garden looking out at at what I have built, made or nutured over the last three years. I am proud to say this includes a 12ft by 3ft raised garden bed wall made of breeze block, which I filled with all the earth that I dug out when I laid a patio.
The wall is wonky (in all dimensions), the mortar is not flush, spilling out onto the blocks and of course it is not quite finished. But it is functional and I made it. I have planted five tall and thick bamboos which provide a screen to stop my oh so close neighbour from seeing me on the patio if he trys to peer over the fence.
I built the wall in spring last year and last month I decided to finish it by hiding its wonkyness behind some wood cladding. The batons are fixed (well, all but two of them) and maybe I will get round to finishing up this summer. But if not, it doesnt matter, because it is a mighty fine wall that I made.
add-on 2/7/07 - The maze of my mind.
The maze of my mind twists in three dimensions, all excruciatingly painful.
The maze of my mind some may love to behold but to be lost in it is hopeless.
The pathways are swamped and new bridge-ways form; they do not compute logic sense.
The twist in my mind shouts at me in many voices, all of them say ‘they hate you.’
But a small whisper can be heard from the back of the pack, which says ‘do not listen to them.’
The many voices in the twist of my mind press down in anxiety and darkness.
